Adam Koltz |
Adam’s inspired portrait of “Johnny” from the old sea shanty “Leave Her, Johnny, Leave Her” dating back to the Irish potato famine era. The lengthy song invites the weary sailor to leave the sea life behind, and serves to air grievances harmlessly.
“The work wuz hard an' the voyage wuz long, Leave her, Johnny, Leave her! The sea was high an' the gales wuz strong. An it's time for us to leave her!”... |
